Cancún is a city in southeastern Mexico, located on the southeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is a major world-renowned tourist destination, as well as being the seat of the municipality of Benito Juárez. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea, and is one of the easternmost points in Mexico. Cancún is located just north of Mexico's Caribbean coast resort band known as the Riviera Maya. - Wikipedia

If you're the kind of tourist looking for entertainment of all sorts, well there are plenty of things to do in Cancun. Attractions include beautiful beaches , adventure tours, golf courses, dance clubs, archeological sites, superb snorkeling and scuba diving.
According to a Trip Advisor survey, Cancun is listed as one of the most expensive cities to visit this summer. The numbers are based on the cost of drinks, a two-course dinner, taxi rides and overnight stay at a four-star hotel. Cancun is also one of the most popular cities people flock to around the holiday season.

Attractions
Scuba Diving: This is an absolute must! If you want to learn how to scuba dive then I suggest the Nautilus Diving and Training Center. It's highly rated!

Mayan archeological sites: One of the places to see in Cancun are the Mayan archeaological sites. Spots like Chichen Itza along with Tulum is rated one of the the 'Seven Wonders of the World' and also noted in the "1000 Places to See Before You Die" book.

Golf Courses: Cancun has several golf courses to enjoy. If you're looking for a short game then I recommended the The El Manglar Golf Course Riviera Maya golf course. One of the best golf courses in Cancun is the Hilton Cancun Golf & Spar Resort. Yes... a spa is on the premises! The Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort offer many different challenges so choose your adversary carefully. Another recommendation is the Playa Mujeres Golf Club. It's carefully carved in the tropical jungle and lined by gorgeous Caribbean beaches.

Coco Bongo Show: Another attraction faved by tourists. It's the place to go if you're looking for Las Vegas style fun and dance the night away. Some say this club is "Las Vegas meets Mexico."

La Isla Shopping Mall: One of things you gotta do in Cancun is shop! Head to this shopping attraction. It's an excellent place for designer shopping with very good restaurants.

Isla Mujeres: Looking to relax and get away from all the hustle and bustle of Cancun? Tourists love to stay at this small island.
Adventure Park: Selvatica Canopy Expedition and Adventure Tour is rated the #1 Mexico and Cancun adventure park. It has the longest zip line tour in all of North America with a total of 12 lines stretching an amazing 2000 feet through the jungle! I highly recommend stopping here.

Cancun Underwater Museum: Cancún Underwater Museum is one of the most exciting museums in the world. It's off the coast of Isla de Mujeres and I gotta say that it's a pretty amazing site. The sculptures, made by Jason deCaires Taylor, are made of natural materials and eventually they will become artificial reefs.

5 Reasons Why Everything In Life Is Better in a Hotel

10/7/2013

Are hotels a large part of your domestic life? It is for most business travellers and to some, they are becoming more "homely" than home. I mean what's not to like about staying in a hotel? You gotta love the freedom and  internationalized culture, but overall, it's just less complicated.

I agree with CNN's analysis on hotel life- life is pretty much the same. You eat, sleep, work, and have sex, but at a hotel everything is touched with novelty.

Here are 5 reasons why everything in life is better in a Hotel

1. Design. I can't afford fancy artwork or buying new couches, but in hotels, I can admire all kinds of interesting art and modern design from the lobby to the guestroom. And it only costs us a few hundred dollars versus a couple thousand.

I'm from Los Angeles and some of my favorite hotels with superb design and affordable, include the Palomar Hotel LA:

and Figueroa Hotel Los Angeles:

2. Spas. If there's an on-site spa, it's going to be hard for me to say no. I'll try my best not to walk around the lobby with my robe on though.

3. Fast Internet. This is a must for me! It doesn't happen often but the few times I've stayed in a hotel this year, I've had crazy fast internet speeds. So I can catch up on my favorite tv shows while emailing and uploading photos without any frustration or guilt.

4. Perfect Sleep. I'm usually restless sleeper, but when I'm in a hotel, I sleep like a baby. The rooms are quiet, the curtains shut to absolute blackness, and the walls are solid.

5. Specialty Cocktails. I love staying in a hotel with an on-site bar around the holidays because most of the time, they have specialty cocktails. I especially love the themed ones. I can't resist them!

Do you feel hotels are more "homely" than home ? Share your thoughts below!
